Senior Project: An Electronic Safe Box

In 2011 I graduated from the Lebanese International University (LIU). My Bachelors degree was in the major of Engineering. To graduate as an electrical engineers we were asked to do our senior projects.
I worked with my partner Abdel Ghani Sharanik on building an electronic safe box working by the mean of the PIC Micro-controller.

The safe box is opened when the relay functions normally when the user enters the four correct digits using a 4x3 keypad in which these digits are displayed on a 16x2 LCD. The user have three trials to open the safe box but if the code is still wrong at the fourth trial the box will be locked and cannot be opened again unless the box is insulated from electricity for five minutes and then another three trials will be given to the user.

The electronic money safe box was supplied by two alarms connected to two LEDs of different colors- red and green- in which the red LED will glow when its corresponding alarm alerts as a result of entering the PIN code wrongly whereas the green LED will function normally when the user enters the four-digits PIN code correctly and the alarm gives a beep sound different from that produced as a result of entering the wrong PIN.

Below is the block diagram that shows how the electronic components are connected and how the send-receive message is transported from one component to another from the instance of entering the code till the functioning of relay and opening of the box's door.
