Lebanese curriculum is out of date. It is not a manner of expiry
date but it is a manner of teaching old and meaningless facts relatively to the
days and the improvement we reached. We are in the twentieths centuries and
still teaching the students that the sun arises from the east and that earth is
an elliptical shape…so come on curricular designers.

This curriculum should be changed to teach for understanding,
analysis, problem-solving application, evaluation and creation and not only
memorization and writing what teachers need to read or what teachers ordered us
to say. So a new curriculum should be designed according to bloom’s taxonomy
and Gardner’s multiple intelligences considerations.
This new curriculum should be modified to increase learners’ motivation
and encouragement, to enhance their critical thinking and to evoke their curiosity
to seek for new knowledge. Besides it should include a lot and long training
periods for teachers to be able to get rid of the memorization dress and wear
the new dress which grasps learners’ attention and hooks them in the
educational field.
